The Spacetime Metric

How this is built

Method & confidence tiers

The discipline of this project is simple to state and hard to keep: drive relentlessly toward the primary sources, and brake relentlessly against your own conclusions. Every claim is investigated, corroborated or discounted, tiered, and given a falsification condition.

The five confidence tiers

Every substantive claim on this site is labeled with one of five tiers. The tier is not a mood; it is a claim about the evidence, and it can be argued with.

Definitive

Established, independently reproduced, and not seriously disputed within mainstream physics.

Strong

Well supported by multiple independent lines of evidence, with minor open questions.

Suggestive

Real signal in the data or literature, but not yet decisively confirmed.

Speculative

A plausible extrapolation or hypothesis presented as such — thin or indirect evidence.

Contested

Actively disputed; credible experts disagree, or claimed evidence is challenged.

Corroboration is not echo

A single claim repeated across ten videos, three blogs, and a Reddit thread is one data point, not thirteen. We trace each claim back to its origin and count only genuinely independent confirmations — a separate experiment, a separate measurement, a separate research group.

Every thread records what would falsify it

A claim that nothing could disprove is not a strong claim — it is an empty one. For each thread we ask: what measurement, if it came back a particular way, would kill this? A claim with a clear, unmet falsification test earns a higher tier than one that can never be wrong.

Formulas come in pairs

Every equation on this site is shown twice: once in its rigorous form, and once in plain language directly beneath it. The math is the territory; the translation is the map. Here is the pattern you will see throughout, using the vacuum energy density of a mode as an example:

Zero-point energy of a mode(M.1)
What this actually says
Even with everything removed and cooled to absolute zero, each way the field can vibrate still carries half a quantum of energy. Empty space is never truly at rest — it hums.

If a page ever shows you an equation without its plain-language partner, treat that as an unfinished section. The pairing is the point.
