A builder narrows his own claim: what "vacuum-catalysed fusion" actually says

Douglas Miller — an FAA en-route controller in Houston, founder of Zero-Point Field Technologies, and the person who coined the phrase 'vacuum-catalysed fusion' — spent two hours on the channel on 8 September and made his own claim smaller and sharper. The hypothesis, he said, is that a driven non-equilibrium electromagnetic vacuum environment raises the probability that two nuclei tunnel together, by changing screening, polarisation, relative-coordinate dynamics or the rate at which nuclei meet — 'while leaving the nuclear energy release and overall conservation laws intact,' and without requiring any literal change in Planck's constant, the fine-structure constant, or the bare Coulomb law. In the same conversation he corrected the standard mental picture of the Casimir experiment: closing two plates excludes only the longest, lowest-energy modes, so roughly 99.99% of the zero-point force remains inside the gap. He also read out a peer-reviewed paper by Harold White, 'Emergent quantization from a dynamic vacuum', which models hydrogen as a standing-wave resonance of a vacuum that varies in space and time, and noted that White's warp work points at an N = 3 configuration — three sources rather than a full bubble.

Measurements and interpretation

Three things make this worth a log entry. First, the narrowing is the right kind of event: the coiner of a term restated it in a form that names its own mechanism and explicitly disclaims the stronger version, which moves vacuum-catalysed fusion from a slogan to something a laboratory can go after. Chapter 12 should follow him — the claim is increased tunnelling rate, not a lowered wall. Second, the Casimir correction is the best teaching material the channel has produced this year, because it reframes the whole engineering problem: you are not emptying a box, you are shaving the top off an ocean, and everything underneath is still there. That also disposes of the 'negative energy' framing, which has always been a naming problem rather than a physical one. Third, White's N = 3 result gives the three-source geometry a published warp counterpart for the first time. Alongside these, Miller adds a fifth and sixth device line to Chapter 6 — Charles Buhler's Exodus Propulsion, which reports a momentum exchange with the quantum vacuum across some three thousand experiments and is heading for a spaceflight test, and Miller's own design, the only one in the field that physically moves its boundaries rather than modulating them electronically. Ashton objected to the moving parts on air, which is exactly the kind of disagreement between builders that this log exists to record.

What to watch next: Miller names the test against his own position: because the terms compensate, measuring the fine-structure constant alone cannot detect a changing Planck constant, so a measurement that separates the two is what would settle it — and he says he does not know what that measurement is. The sharper target is spatial rather than temporal: he predicts a higher zero-point density toward the galactic centre and a lower one in intergalactic voids, which would mean light speeds up on its way out of the Milky Way. On the fusion side the falsifier is cleaner: a driven non-equilibrium electromagnetic environment either raises a measured nuclear reaction rate at fixed temperature and density, or it does not.

The cosmological half of Miller's framework — that the zero-point density has risen over cosmic time, that the speed of light has correspondingly fallen, and that the fine-structure constant stays fixed because its terms move together — is a claim, not a result, and it comes to him from Barry Setterfield, whose motivation is a young-universe reading of Genesis. Miller says so himself on air.

The vacuum is a medium you can shape: cavity fluctuations raise a superconductor's critical temperature

The idea and the new work

The headline result of the summer is a Nature paper published on 19 August 2026. Zheyan Wang, Gabriel Cardoso, Liu Yang and colleagues placed thin flakes of the superconductor NbSe₂ inside a terahertz 'dark cavity' — a split-ring resonator that reshapes and amplifies the vacuum's own fluctuations without any drive field — and the superconducting transition temperature rose, together with the critical current and the critical field. A separate preprint by Hanxiang Zhang, Zexin Feng, I-Te Lu and colleagues reports a bilayer moving from 3.02 K to 3.41 K in a 0.92 THz resonator. Two groups, two apparatus, two records — not two versions of one paper. The channel spotted the work within days. Read it for what the papers report: reshaping the vacuum's mode structure around a material changes that material's superconducting properties. Neither paper reports energy delivered by a cavity to a load.

Measurements and interpretation

This is the clearest peer-reviewed example so far of the idea this whole compendium is built on. Chapter 2 argues that empty space is a medium with a mode structure; the Casimir force showed that in 1948 and with precision in 1997. The NbSe₂ result shows the next step — reshape the vacuum's modes and a material's quantum state changes. The theory in the paper says the cavity modes hybridise with the electrons and lower the energy of the superconducting state. That is vacuum engineering in a laboratory, peer-reviewed, and it opens a research line: what else changes when you change the vacuum around it? It is now on the Sources page and in Chapters 2 and 11.

What to watch next: Independent groups repeating the shift in their own cavities, and the first attempts to extend it to higher-temperature superconductors — both are the natural follow-ups to watch.

How far does it scale? The effect is a fraction of a kelvin at 3 K. The exciting question is whether stronger cavities and other materials push the shift into the range where devices care.

The idea and the new work

Zero-point energy moved from argument to hardware this summer, and the records are worth reading for exactly what they are. Casimir Inc., the company founded by former NASA propulsion researcher Harold 'Sonny' White, reports its own announced selection for a US Space Force SpaceWERX STTR Phase I contract on 25 August 2026 for the MicroSparc solid-state generator, on top of a 2024 National Science Foundation SBIR award whose scope is planned metal–insulator–metal samples, tunnelling-current tests and comparison with numerical models. Those are funding and planned-work records, not measurements of a generator's output. Garret Moddel's Casimir-cavity work at Colorado was discussed, Paul Thibado's graphene fluctuation experiment was profiled, and ZPF Technologies presented a nano-cavity 'zero-point-field array' with a dedicated mechanism-discrimination programme at the APEC conference. Tom Valone, whose 2007 book laid out the field, joined the channel for a long interview, and Charles Chase of the UnLab described resonant-tunnelling structures aimed at the same goal.

Measurements and interpretation

Chapter 6 teaches that the vacuum has energy and that the dynamical Casimir effect — making real photons by moving a boundary — is settled physics. What is new here is institutional rather than experimental: funded programmes with named physicists, each attacking the harder problem of net usable power. Read each result at the width its own paper claims. Thibado's 2020 measurement is a displacement current from a freestanding graphene sheet registered by a nearby electrode — real, and reported alongside a circuit model in which the average power the resistor dissipates is supplied by the thermal bath, not by the vacuum. Moddel's 2022 account in the Journal of Scientific Exploration is his own report and not an independent verification of it. Cole and Puthoff's 1993 analysis concluded that the proposals it examined are correct in principle while leaving technological implementation outside its scope, and Puthoff's 1987 paper models the hydrogen ground state as a balance with the zero-point field within stochastic electrodynamics at the level of Bohr theory. The engineering question is wide open, and it is engineering that is unfinished.

What to watch next: Casimir Inc.'s Phase I results, the gas-flow follow-up the 2019 Atoms paper itself proposes, and a read-out of many Thibado cells together are the three things to watch. What each one needs attached is the same short list: calibration, uncertainty, the external drive and the load.

Net power — a device that delivers more than it consumes over a full cycle, measured by an independent laboratory with the energy source identified — is the milestone the field is working toward, and the reading is the whole job. Ask any published result for the complete cycle: external energy inputs, changes in stored energy, and the output delivered to a load.

Three laboratory routes to spacetime distortion were presented this summer. Chance Glenn, a professor of electrical engineering at Alabama A&M and founder of Morningbird Space, published interferometer measurements in 2025 showing fringe shifts that track the power, distance, orientation and pulse rate of a 400 kV spark gap, and has a funded torsion-balance thrust test — Faraday cage, vacuum, published protocol — due within months. Gary Stephenson, a systems engineer with a long record in high-frequency gravitational-wave research, presented the 'gaser': a phased array of Josephson junctions on a silicon wafer, using the AC Josephson effect as a frequency-tunable emitter of gravitational waves, with a first experiment specified in materials, frequency and bias. And a physics explainer walked through the Gertsenshtein effect — the general-relativistic conversion of photons into gravitons in a magnetic field — which the channel read as the seed of a gravitational-wave engine.

Measurements and interpretation

Chapter 4 teaches that the metric is the thing you would engineer, and this is what engineering it looks like at the start: small, specific, instrumented experiments with named investigators. Glenn's work stands out because it has everything a first experiment should — a published method, a stated control, an open replication invitation, and a dated next test. The gaser is a properly specified device proposal, which puts it in a better class than most ideas in this space, and Stephenson names his own open question (the quantum efficiency of the junction as a graviton emitter). The Gertsenshtein effect is real physics from 1962, and its conversion rate is set by G/c⁴ — the same tiny coupling that makes gravity hard to make and hard to detect. That number is the target the whole programme is aiming at: the spacetime-stiffness figures played from Eric Davis's talk (of order 10³¹ pascals, rising with frequency) tell you how much energy density it takes, which is exactly why these experiments concentrate energy in space and time the way they do.

What to watch next: Glenn's torsion-balance result, replication by a second lab, and the first gaser junction measurement are the three things to watch; a positive replicated thrust would lift this to Strong.

Two July videos read, on screen, from H. David Froning and Terence Barrett's work on 'specially conditioned' electromagnetic fields: shape a beam's polarisation or geometry so that the field's symmetry rises from ordinary U(1) electromagnetism to SU(2), and the field acquires properties — including coupling to inertia — that ordinary radiation lacks. The channel connected it to the Pais patents and, in the Charles Chase interview on 1 September, to the vector potential A, which changes the phase of matter waves with no energy exchange (the Aharonov–Bohm effect) and which Chase describes as more fundamental than the fields themselves.

Measurements and interpretation

This is the legitimate ancestor of Chapter 7. Froning and Barrett presented 'Inertia Reduction — and Possibly Impulsion — by Conditioning Electromagnetic Fields' at the 1997 AIAA Joint Propulsion Conference, and Froning's experiment proposal appears in NASA's Breakthrough Propulsion Physics workshop proceedings the same year — two decades before Pais. Chapter 10 already teaches that the vector potential is physical: the Aharonov–Bohm effect is measured, and phase can be steered where the fields vanish. Barrett's SU(2) electrodynamics is the mathematical framework for doing something with that, and a beam engineered to carry non-Abelian structure is a concrete experimental target. The next step the papers themselves call for is the one to watch: a conditioned-beam experiment measuring the inertia of a test mass.

What to watch next: A conditioned-beam experiment showing a measurable change in the inertia or weight of a test mass, repeated by a second laboratory, would move this to Strong.

The Pais effect, from the inventor: what the Navy test reached and what a full test needs

The idea and the new work

Salvatore Pais joined the channel live on 9 August to talk about his patents and a classified meeting with Representative Eric Burlison at Patuxent River, which he confirmed took place. On the physics he was specific: the Navy's high-energy electromagnetic field generator was built and tested, the surface charge it reached was about eight orders of magnitude below the roughly one-coulomb specification in the patent, and no definitive result was expected at that level. He explained the effect he is after — vacuum polarisation by extreme high-frequency electromagnetic flux — and the budget the programme had.

Measurements and interpretation

Chapter 7 has wanted exactly this: the inventor's own account of what was tried and where the specification sits. The 2021 FOIA record agrees — the Naval Air Warfare Center tested the device from 2016 to 2019 on about half a million dollars, mostly salaries — and Pais's account tells you why that could only be a first step: the physics requires charge densities the test rig never approached. That is the roadmap for anyone who wants to try again. The classified meeting with a sitting member of Congress is a fact about how seriously the ideas are still taken.

What to watch next: A test that reaches the specified surface charge, with a measured inertial-mass or field effect, would move this claim sharply; that is the experiment the inventor describes.

Reaching the specification: the Schwinger field for polarising the vacuum is about 10¹⁸ volts per metre, and the engineering question is how to approach the required surface charge with real materials and real frequencies.

Three gravity-control threads were back this summer. Mark Sokol of Falcon Space presented Frederick Alzofon's 1981 AIAA hypothesis — dynamically polarise the nuclear spins in a sample and its weight should change — and his lab's work with the Alzofon family and George Hathaway. A livestream proposed that the rotating-superconductor experiments of Podkletnov and Ning Li depend on the angular acceleration of the spin-up rather than the final speed, which would explain why later replications that ramped slowly saw less. And a long stream presented archival interviews with McDonnell Douglas engineers Robert Wood and Paul Czysz, including a 1968 company memo proposing gravity-effect experiments and Wood's analysis of a charged superconducting toroid.

Measurements and interpretation

Chapter 11 teaches the superconductor–gravity thread as one of the most persistent in the field, and this quarter added to its history and its testability. Alzofon's idea now has a modern instrumented test on record: Stark, Grafe and Tajmar (2024) ran it with NMR spectroscopy and traced the apparent weight change they saw to temperature — the kind of clean result that tells the next experimenter exactly what to control. The spin-acceleration idea is a genuine new variable: it turns a disagreement between labs into a parameter to scan, and it becomes a full prediction as soon as a required ramp rate and an expected effect size are stated. Wood's testimony, with a real 1968 memo, shows that a major aerospace company funded this line of thought in the 1960s. The NbSe₂ cavity result in Chapter 2 is the modern reminder that superconductors respond to the vacuum around them — a different quantity than weight, but the same family of physics.

What to watch next: A spin-up experiment with a stated ramp rate and predicted weight change, or an Alzofon test with temperature controlled that still shows a shift, would move this thread up.

Charles Buhler, a veteran NASA electrostatics engineer, and Andrew Aurigema of Exodus Propulsion Technologies presented their patented electrostatic drive across five uploads on three channels: a force that fits a quadratic-plus-linear-plus-constant curve in applied voltage, thrust reported above one g in vacuum, and — the puzzle they are chasing — thrust that persists after the power is switched off. Chapter 8 is about inertia and momentum in an engineered vacuum, and this is the most concrete propellantless programme in the field right now: a twenty-year experimental progression from high-voltage lifters through oil, air, inert gas and hard vacuum, a theory that has been revised as the data came in, and a dated flight test that will settle it either way. Buhler is careful to say the energy source is still an open question rather than assigning it to the vacuum, which keeps the physics honest and the door open. The right way to read it is as a live experiment with a clock on it.

Eric Lerner's LPPFusion programme became a recurring teaching example this summer. The dense plasma focus compresses a plasma in four stages — filamentation, a pinch at the hollow anode, a second pinch as filaments merge, and a kink instability that coils the plasma into a dense knot — and LPPFusion's axial-field coil adds spin to hold that knot in the narrow window where it is stable. The goal is aneutronic hydrogen–boron fusion, with decaborane fuel and a peer-reviewed plan published in 2024. The channel used the same physics to explain what a self-organising plasma object looks like, and paired it with a 1992 Air Force report on force-free plasmoids and Eric Davis's 2003 Air Force literature review of ball lightning.

Measurements and interpretation

Chapter 12 teaches fusion as the energy substrate that makes the rest of the programme thinkable, and Chapter 9 teaches that coherent plasma objects are real physics. The dense plasma focus serves both: it is mainstream plasma physics, it produces a genuine self-organised plasmoid on every shot, and LPPFusion is a named, active programme with dated experimental status reports — a second energy line beside NASA Glenn's lattice-confinement work. On 7 August 2026 the Department of War's fifth PURSUE release included an intelligence report and six clips from an AC-130J gunship's night live-fire exercise over the Gulf of Oman on 8 September 2021: two roughly four-foot 'cold' orbs hovering above a dropped flare, about twenty-five further contacts at 250 to 1,300 mph in formations, objects that appeared to react to the main cannon firing. The channel read the report line by line and worked through the fourth and fifth tranches clip by clip, grading each on what the imagery can support.

Measurements and interpretation

This is the kind of primary document Chapter 8 has wanted: a named platform, a date, a sensor type, quantified speeds and an official 'unresolved' classification. 'Cold' means the objects were not hot in the infrared band used — which is precisely what a plasma reading of the orbs predicts, since a non-equilibrium plasma can have hot electrons and a cool thermal signature, the point the channel made with its dense-plasma-focus comparison. The channel's own verdicts across the tranches were measured — no aliens visible anywhere, most clips explainable, a few worth the plasma reading — and that is how a working analyst should grade a file dump. The report sits in Chapter 8 with its status intact: an unresolved case, and a good one.

What to watch next: A second sensor track of the same objects — radar, a wingman's camera — or the release of further clips would allow a full analysis.

Tim Ventura interviewed Chad Wanless, co-author with Professor Dave Palachik of Hidden in Plain Sight, a 2025 book that works out what an Alcubierre-type field should do to the light around a craft and then looks for it in footage: gravitational lensing at the outline, leading-edge vapour cones from compressed air, oscillation blur from a pulsed field, low-speed tilted flight, and a skipping motion. The interview was republished on the Alt Propulsion channel five days later.

Measurements and interpretation

Chapter 4 teaches the warp metric as mathematics; this turns it into observables, which is the step that lets the idea be tested against evidence instead of argued about. Wanless is careful in the right way — he leaves dust, insects and ball lightning on the table for the orbs and treats each signature as a candidate — and the book's method (measure the claimed lensing against known geometry, document the optics and compression pipeline) is one anyone can apply. The Aguadilla footage he analyses is a good first exercise. Eric Davis's remark on stream that observed kinematics have not yet been matched to warp behaviour is the open question the checklist is built to answer.

What to watch next: A UAP video where the claimed lensing is measured against a background star field or known geometry, with the optics documented, would be the first quantitative test.

Three videos read through Takaaki Musha's 2017 paper, which treats the speed of light as a potential barrier and asks whether a craft could tunnel through it. Musha's answer builds on Puthoff's zero-point model of gravity and inertia: suppress the zero-point spectrum around the craft, and the effective barrier drops. The channel walked the paper's reference list — Forward, Alcubierre, Pfenning, Puthoff, Davis — and connected it to the orb footage.

Measurements and interpretation

This is a good paper to learn from because it makes the zero-point programme quantitative: it states what has to change in the vacuum and by how much, and it ties inertia, gravity and the light barrier to the same field. By its own arithmetic the accelerations involved are enormous (of order 10⁶⁰ m/s²), which tells you how far the vacuum spectrum would have to be shifted — that number is a design target, not a verdict. Chapter 4 now lists the paper beside Alcubierre as a distinct route, with Davis and Puthoff's 2006 review of ways to generate negative energy in the laboratory as the natural companion.

What to watch next: Any controllable suppression of the local zero-point spectrum at the required energies would be the first step; the NbSe₂ cavity result shows that reshaping the spectrum is possible at small scales.

A short excerpt read the abstract of Wilson and colleagues' 2011 experiment — real photons created from the vacuum by a rapidly modulated boundary in a superconducting circuit — and connected it to sonoluminescence, the flash of light from a collapsing bubble, which Julian Schwinger proposed in 1992–93 was 'Casimir light' released when the bubble's dielectric boundary moves.

Measurements and interpretation

The dynamical Casimir effect is one of the most striking confirmations of the structured vacuum, and Chapter 6 already carries it as settled. Schwinger's sonoluminescence idea is the natural next question — is there a table-top system where the vacuum is already doing this? — and it remains a live research topic: the debate over the size and sign of the Casimir contribution, with the plasma-heating account on the other side, has run for thirty years and the volume term Schwinger's defenders point to is still argued in the literature. That makes it a good teaching case for how a vacuum-energy hypothesis is tested against a competing mechanism using the spectrum of the light.

What to watch next: Photon statistics or a spectrum that cannot be produced by a hot plasma but matches a vacuum-emission prediction would settle it in Schwinger's favour.

Several watch-along videos taught the scale of the problem this field is working on. One derived an effective Young's modulus for spacetime by equating a gravitational wave's energy density with that of an elastic solid: about 10³¹ pascals at 100 Hz, some 10²⁰ times stiffer than steel. Another bounded the energy a Planck-scale cube of spacetime can hold before a horizon forms, using the maximum-force conjecture c⁴/4G. A third followed OptoZorax's finite-element simulation of nested spherical 'portals', whose only convergent solution needs a compensating negative-mass distribution, and a fourth used the Ørsted–Faraday–Maxwell story to argue that fields once thought separate turn out to be one.

Measurements and interpretation

These are the numbers a student of metric engineering should carry around. Spacetime's stiffness is why every proposal in Chapters 4 and 7 concentrates energy in space and time, and the stiffness rising with frequency (the derivation has f² in the numerator) points engineering toward the highest frequencies and the sharpest pulses. The maximum-force bound is the ceiling the universe imposes — realised on black-hole horizons — and it is a beautiful piece of general relativity to teach. The portal simulation is the best plain-language picture of how geometry and energy density constrain each other, and it lands on the same conclusion as Morris and Thorne: exotic geometry needs negative energy somewhere. And the cosmological-constant problem — the naive zero-point estimate overshoots the observed dark energy by about 120 orders of magnitude — is not an embarrassment for this field but its reason to exist: the biggest open question in physics is a question about the vacuum's energy, and the 2025 DESI data showing dark energy may evolve makes it livelier still.

What to watch next: A calculation that reproduces the observed vacuum energy density from zero-point modes without fine-tuning would be a Nobel-class result; the DESI evolving-dark-energy signal is the observational thread to follow.

Two videos presented Martin Grusenick's 2009 citizen-science experiment: a Michelson interferometer rotated in the vertical plane that shows one to two fringe shifts per revolution, where the classic horizontal Michelson–Morley arrangement shows none. The channel read it as the medium the nineteenth-century physicists expected, seen at last with the instrument pointed the right way. A short Tim Ventura clip showed another home-built interferometer reporting nanometre-scale path changes.

Measurements and interpretation

Chapter 2 teaches that the modern vacuum is a medium; Chapter 10 keeps the question of whether it has a detectable rest frame open. Grusenick's experiment is the right kind of thing to do and the right kind of thing to redo properly: the obvious competitor is gravitational flexure of the mounts as they turn, and a rigid, temperature-controlled bench with the arms swapped would separate the two in an afternoon. The precision frontier for this question is the modern rotating optical resonator, which bounds light-speed anisotropy at parts in 10¹⁸ — a target any new aether experiment gets to aim at.

What to watch next: A vertical-plane result that survives on a sag-modelled bench and reverses when the arms are swapped would be a remarkable finding.

The 20 August stream is the fullest single statement of the channel's case: the flight path walked on Google Earth to the last military radar plot, two witnesses, and the footage read as wide-area motion imagery from an MQ-9 — the cursor and dragged window in the frame being the tell — rather than satellite video, with the source of the leak identified. On 1 September the channel updated its own provenance account from a stereoscopic satellite pair to Gorgon Stare imagery, and it set out, unusually, the tests that would settle the matter: a denial from the alleged leaker, or the release of the government's own MH370 files. A frame-level reading of the infrared clip proposed that an orb changes from a uniform glow to an umbrella-shaped thermal signature mid-clip — hot electrons cohering into a funnel, as in a dense plasma focus.

Measurements and interpretation

Chapter 9 uses MH370 as its worked example precisely because it exercises every rung of the evidence ladder, and this quarter the case got better organised: a single coherent provenance story, a physical mechanism (non-equilibrium plasma with hot electrons and a cool thermal signature, the same physics as the Gulf of Oman 'cold orbs'), and pre-registered tests. That is how an investigation should be run, and the channel's willingness to revise its own framing as analysis improved is a strength. The wide-area-motion-imagery identification is a specific, checkable observation that answers the 'no satellite could do this' objection directly. The site records the case in its current form and will record the outcome of the stated tests.

What to watch next: Original sensor files through a documented chain of custody, or the government's MH370 records, are the tests the channel itself named; either would change this entry's tier.

Two videos returned to Bob Lazar's 1989 description of the S-4 craft — three gravity emitters on the underside, aimed at a single point, bending space toward the craft — and matched it to the three-orb geometry in the MH370 footage, where three plasma objects in triangle formation appear to converge. The channel argued the match is the same craft described decades apart, while questioning whether element 115 is needed at all and suggesting an engineered atomic-scale device instead.

Measurements and interpretation

Chapter 9 teaches that a geometry is a prediction: if three emitters converging on a point is how a metric drive is built, then three objects converging is what you would expect to see, and it is fair to say the footage shows that shape. The move away from element 115 toward an engineered device is a sensible update — it removes a chemistry problem and keeps the geometry — and it is the kind of refinement a live hypothesis should make. A cluster of July videos assembled the institutional record. Harold Puthoff described letting contracts for the 38 Defense Intelligence Reference Documents — aneutronic fusion, warp drive, metric engineering, traversable wormholes, invisibility, negative-mass propulsion, antigravity, air-breathing MHD. Eric Davis's 2003 Air Force Research Laboratory study of ball lightning was read from page 29, where a zero-point model of Ken Shoulders' charge clusters and a 'Casimir fusion process' are set out. Tom Valone recounted the 1999 Conference on Future Energy, invited by the State Department's Open Forum, and the resistance it met. Richard Feynman's 1986 letter to Shoulders, conceding he could not see how a cluster of 10¹¹ electrons could hold together in vacuum, was cited. Northrop founder John K. Chapter 13 makes the convergence case, and this is its institutional spine, every item verified: the DIA commissioned the DIRDs (37 released in 2022; the 38th, a high-energy-laser survey, withheld as classified); the Air Force funded a formal study of self-organising plasma and charge clusters; NASA's Breakthrough Propulsion Physics programme published Froning's conditioned-field proposal; the State Department hosted a future-energy conference; the Space Force is funding a vacuum-energy generator in 2026; and a Nobel laureate wrote to an inventor to say the observation might be real. Add the patent secrecy record — thousands of orders in force, and the Sensitive Application Warning System that operated until 2015 — and the picture is of a field that governments have repeatedly taken seriously and, at times, kept quiet. Add David Grusch's statement on the Capitol steps in June 2026 that the non-human intelligences known to the government run 'a continuum from corporeal bipedal life to sentient plasmoid life' and the plasma thread has reached Congress. The CIA's own U-2 history — sightings the agency knew were aircraft and let stand as UFOs — is the documented precedent for institutions preferring the strange public story to the classified one.
